Was out early trying for some good light. beautiful clear skies, however, at 3000' surrounded by mountains we have Mt. Wrightson, 9600' directly east of us which delays the direct sun.
Captured this young male having an early snack.

Hi Gus - not a big fan of feeder shots - Just my personal tastes - however I would maybe straighten the feeder so that it is horizontal.
Like the sheen on the feathers, catchlight in the eye and the BG - the green area in the BG distracts a little.

Al: In the process of getting some backgrounds, the one today is a grass mat againt the cactus, not too successful though getting ideas. Flower over feeder good idea.
Harold: Yes, I think they look a lot better without the feeder, and I did take some shots today on their pull back for more sips. Next one won't have a feeder.
