    Default Long-tailed Duck

Photographed at Barnegat Light, these guys are quite fast.

    Axel:

You have been really capturing these guys beautifully.
Sharp, well exposed, perfect wing position and angle in frame.

    Cheers

We were lucky to have a couple of the long-tails come into the Slough before winter. You are right - very fast. Details in the grays and face/beak are nice. Wing feathers are great. Detail in the darker areas is there as well. I like that the eye seems to be looking at the viewer.
Not surprisingly, I wouldn't be able to improve on the crop:D

Hope you are enjoying the 1D4.

Good flying posture with the wings on the full downstroke. I like the detail on the nearer wing, and good job on the sharpness too. As Im not familiar with this species, I would love to compare how fast these guys fly compared to some of our faster flyers.

Axel...I liked how you captured the bird perfectly parallel to the sensor. Exposure spot on as usual.
