Hi Troy Good looking bird, well exposed and precise point of focus !!

If this is a full frame would try cropping into a vertical, the focus of the image is the bird and don't like so much room around it !! It is a compelling face and want to see more of it !! Dof wise will look better with the stronger crop also !!! Ideally more focal length could have been used if available !!!

Tech wise not sure why would you shoot at such a low ISO with a D700? Did make a sharp image but its nice having more shutter speed or stopping down if you wish. Fine looking image !!!

    Al,

I have to see if this is a full frame or not. Yeah, looking at the exif, I should have done with higher ISO.
I think this was shot a few months ago, when I first got my D700 and tele. I am learning to use the camera I have now. You can go ahead and crop and so I can see your interpretation.

What I can say is D700 is very clean upto 1600, I have used D300 , D700 & I must say , close the eyes and boost the ISO:D , ISO 400 can be standard one even for very good light
