    Default Quak Quak

It was cold and cloudy on Saturday with little light. I managed to go out and shoot for about 2 hours before it started to rain. I was glad I woke up early and went out. Amazed by the ISO performance of the camera @ ISO3200.

    Camera: Nikon D700
    Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/1000)
    Aperture: f/6.7
    Focal Length: 850 mm
    ISO Speed: 3200
    Exposure Bias: +1 EV
    Flash: No Flash
    Handheld low on the ground.

It is really amazing, except the under-exp. part are too noisy here,
good thing is that it is only BG in this case. The pose very nice here.
Here's my version with NR in BG.

Very nice, thank you. What NR did you use?

I just did NR on my file using Define 2.0. It worked. Oh my, I must have forgotten to do that.

Great repost by Ilija. And a nice image with the raised foot? Where was it created? I would lost the tall strand of grass behind the bird if it were mine.

Arthur, thanks for coming by. I will work on this shot again.
This was at the Venice Rookery yesterday. It was cold and cloudy, only a few photographers were out. These ducks came up looking for food.

Amazing that they came up on the gravel path. Is the rookery still lousy?

This is my first season shooting birds, so I have nothing to compare to.
But it sounds like it is not as good as past seasons. Only a few pairs of GBH have chicks. Mostly GBH, Egrets and Anhingas only.

Thanks and understandable. When I was there with the IPT about 3 weeks ago there were very few good GBH nest situations and very few birds flying. Things there have been going downhill for years. :)

That was probably when I went to see your presentation at the Sarasota Audubon Society.
