Default High key Great tailed grackle. Which is better? 2 photos

BG is lake water. Overcast conditions. I dialed in 1 +2/3 comp for black details that created the high key BG.

40D. 400f5.6 at f/7.1. 1/125. iso 320. Cropped for composition. I dont have the full bird in the orig.

I will post a different head angle. Let me know what you prefer. I am undecided.

    Thx for looking.

I cropped it slightly differently because of the head angle.

Wonderful detail on the Grackle you manage to capture the beautiful iridescence these guys have in their feathers
out of the two images i prefer the second one I fell the head angle creates a greater intimacy with the viewer.

Hi Kaustubh, while I agree with Don in that there's greater intimacy with the second image; I prefer the first because there is more detail on the darker head/neck areas; that said, I like the high key approach and the fine details.
