This chap decided to fly right over with his bloody prey! My main camera was on my tripod but luckily I had my second body slung by my side - wouldn't have gotten this shot otherwise - he came out of nowhere!

All C&C most welcome! Basic processing done in Aperture 3.

Sweet all the way Mark !!! Big Congrats on the fine capture !!

Quick thinking and right settings got you this image, love the compensation for having all that under wing detail, white head area sure looks good also !!! Image made at the right time before the bird got to you ... all together !!

Can tweak a little in PS for contrast and more pop but looks plenty good to me !!!

Great image! All that detail underneath looks fantastic. And the wingspread looks great.

Good preparation and fast thinking. Nice job with the + 1.33 to compensate the sky. Full wing span and great action moment - you remind me to always carry the spare and have the meter set, thanks for sharing - great job!

Excellent image, exposure spot on! Great under-wing and prey detail. The only thing I would suggest is place a 1 pixel black border around the image-it merges with the web page background, Good work. regards~Bill

Thanks everyone, this was a lucky catch! I'll have some time tonight to play a little more with some fine tuning.

Nice action Mark, very cool angle! Was this on the Fox or Mississippi?

    Thanks Gus!

Hi Brian, this was on the Mississippi - at lock and dam 14.
