    Default Nature Abstract

This is an aerial view of the lava flow from Kilauea volcano on Hawaii Big Island. You can see the red hot lava flowing from the vent on its way to the ocean... the flow was much subdued then compared to last few years as I understand. I had taken this image in 2001 from a helicopter using an Olympus Digital camera. For processing, I applied Topaz simplify and then adjusting the opacity on a different layer to get this final effect. This is one of those few images I applied a thin border! Hope you like it...

Indranil, I really like the textures that you created - it's very interesting. The lava almost looks like a satin dress. I might take a sliver off the top but like it as it is also:)

Indranil, I could look at this for awhile-I really like the tones and painterly look to this. Very nice abstract.

Very nice textures and effect, Indranil. I like the touch of red from the lava.

Great view - I got mine in Hawaii from the air too - and there is so much to see. The fact you got the lava flow is awesome. Agree with a tad crop off the top. Great texture and a great abstract.

    Nice image and application, Indranil.

Very interesting place, as we both know.

Can't wait to find a way back again. It's too good to miss. Which I do.

Excellent abstract, Indranil! I totally dig the metallic look and the textures really drew my eye in. The small pink really pops the whole piece.

I'd also take a slice off the top so that one short edge on the left side disappears but everything else is breathtaking.

Thanks for all the feedback. Appreciate it a lot. Here is a repost with a different crop removing the top portion...

Like the repost Indranil! Good use of nature as abstract. I like the contrast of the reddish colors against all the gray.
