    Default Northern Pintail

I'm just starting my second Vancouver Island workshop this morning and remembering a few of the great photo opportunities we had on the first one. Here's one of my favourites from that first session.

As a side note - I have to say that I have been very pleased with teh Canon 7D so far....despite having some serious reservations about cramming all those megapixels in there :D

    Cheers!

    Camera Model: Canon EOS 7D
    Shutter speed: 1/2500 sec
    Aperture: 5.6
    ISO: 800
    Focal length: 400mm

Lovely soft light, and you nailed the sharpness in this. The pintail is separated from the BG so well. A little tight behind the tail, and I would maybe take a bit off the bottom.

    Hi Glenn

Glad to see your enjoying the 7D. A fine flight photo of this pintail which really pops off the background and very well exposed. I would prefer a touch more space at the tail end. We have a site quite near home that has a large number of pintail and I keep meaning to go up to do some flight photos but just one of those things I haven't go round to, this certainly provides a very good reason to head up there.

    Cheers

    Rich

Fantastic flight shot of this duck - now I don't like my duck flight shots from yesterday anymore :(
Wonderful sharpness and great wing pose. You nailed that one. I think this shot is perfect in every way.

Very nice Glenn, love the wing position and BG. Would love to see this image 1024 pixels wide so that fine details are visible! TFS great work

Glenn, this is really awesome. Pin sharp bird on a completely blurred BG. just as the doctor prescribed. I dont mind that the tail is too close to the edge. If there was more room there, then I think more room would have had to be added to the front and that would have made the bird smaller in the frame. Loved it as is.
