    Default California Quail (Anime style)

Greetings. Played with this style a bit... it involves various curves adjustments, nr, glowing edges, poster edges and masking/blending (er, no set pattern... just til it looks "right"). Anime might not be the right description maybe woodcut?

BG is pretty much the original photo... the straight technique puts a black stipple that produces large jpegs that are impossible to post here.

    Comments/critique much appreciated.

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

Now that is an interesting bird. Love the colors and the textures you've created.

Michael, Big welcome to OOTB. I like the look you have created w/ the filters. I think you are right Anime may not be the best description-but wood carved seems right. This would work as a vertical also. Very nice BG and pose w/ nice eye contact. The details look very good.:)

Very nice bird and treatment, I'd like the negative space to be in front of the bird's face rather than the body.

    Big welcome to BPN :)

Thanks much for the comments... How's this (vertical and comp per suggestions)?... Seeing it now I think it's to my preference to the original crop.

    Cheers,

Good work and use of filters. I like the repost with less space around the bird.
