I took this shot in Florida recently

cropped and noise reduction with DEfine 2.0" ; I like the shot but am not happy with noise reduction

did you have to lighten the image at all? could be the source of the noise. never used define. topaz denoise is a great plugin and al has one he uses that i understand is even better!! noiseware pro?

very powerful pose!! love it. i might clone out that big log under the left wing and work on the sky color. it doesnt look natural.

Hi Bob - seeing some heavy blue fringing around the feathers on the outer parts of the wings.
Maybe post the original with no changes - will give a better idea of what is happening.

Do see the fringing around the feathers. But ans Harold points out it's a powerful pose and I also would get rid of the log under the wing.
    Congrats

Definitely a powerful pose with good wing spread and a nice determination look to boost. I also see halo around the head, maybe from sharpening. Sharpening can also bring out noise, so this might contribute to the noisy look in the image.

Love the pose. Wonder what is causing the blue fringing. Sky could use some NR, otherwise quite stunning IMHO:)

I started over in ACR and took the advice to clone out the bottom stump. How did I do with this repost?

The stump looked a bit cut off and I like the original crop better, but the color and noise look much better in the repost.
