    Default Painted Bunting

Another image from that perfect morning with this Male Painted Bunting. As mentioned before with another image from this day, I was blessed with posing in a near by tree for me off and on for the entire morning. Learned later he was circling the nest, singing and warding off any intruders. My own "nit picking" tells me I dislike the black areas in the foilage as it distracts me, but it is what it is, and I took 16 GB's of images that day, some with better backgrounds, some like this one. *I did add a sliver of canvas to the left side and top*

    D300, 600VR, f/5.6, ISO 400, 1/250th SS

Hope you enjoyed and as always C&C encouraged and welcomed.

HIi Jason, Wonderful pose catching him in full song and plenty of feather detail. I think I might tone down the OOF green in the URC to better match the rest of the tonalities in the BG.

    Hi Jason,
Beautiful singing pose and I love the feather detail - what a beautiful bird. Agree with Don's comment about toning down the green in the URC.

Gorgeous colors, sweet singing pose and ever so sharp. I've never seen one of these but I can imaging the high you experienced with this all-day opportunity!

Love the singing pose and one of the best images I have seen of the painted bunting. I agree with Don about toning down the green a tad but love it as presented . Many thanks for sharing Jason.

Very nice! I love the singing pose and the sharpness. My eye is immediately drawn to the bird, but once I have a second to look around the image I agree with Don's suggestion of toning that one green spot down or cloning it out. I would love to have this in my files! :)

Lovely bird and the singing pose makes the image for me. I would suggest some work on the BG.

Beautiful shot. The light green in the upper right is a little distracting, but that's nit picking really.
