Nice capture; I like that it looks like they are taking a rest from feeding with traces of the meal still on Mom's beak.

What a sweet family portrait! Lovely light, colors, poses, HA. At first look I thought I might be tempted to crop bottom to about the top of your watermark; but on second look I decided the nest added some interest without detracting from the birds. Tiny halos on the shoulders of both birds. A lovely shot.

.. they just ate a bird, lots of red chunks coming up !!!

Bill that is in the original raw capture, will see a lot against a clear blue sky. In these cases I just sharpen the head area without getting close to the border and did not have to lighten the bird at all !!

We did have some with the birds darker, before the sun was down, those we had to lighten and the halo is not around the bird's head shoulder area !!

Hi Al....i like the shot. i don't think I would change anything except the 3 pine needles that merge with the females beak

Nice family portrait. The chick is so big now. Over on this coast, has been slow, a few died, did not survived, and other nest that I go to have 1 only. My first season photographing eagles, hope to get shots like this soon or the chicks learning to fly.

Who am I to critique you, but I would also get rid of the pine needles.
    Where did you get these?

Nice family portrait, the blood on the beak does tell story. Wish the pine needles didn't block the chick beak, and no shadow cast by the tree trunk.

Like it as presented. Al, we found an eagle nest about 10 miles from my house. Yesterday I saw dad leaving the nest banking towards the river (all the Coots are worried). Only way to get close is by boat, that's alright just glad to have em close.

Great technique with the 2xTC. Metered very well, notice detail in both white and dark heads - well done!

Good HA's. Might evict the needles, but looks like too much work to me! Good exposure as Jeff noted.

This is a great shot! When I read the title "with chick" - and then looked in, it still surprises me how big these "little" guys are! I love the look on the "babies" face!
