From the fall. There was a good wave of these guys passing through. They would not sit still, of course, so out came the audio for few minutes and BINGO some good poses for more than nano-seconds were had (and out form deep in the spruces...:)). I don't often use a square crop, but thought it looked best for this image.

An OOF branch running along the right edge was eliminated using the patch and clone tools, and very bright green behind the OOF vegetation was burned to better tie-in with the rest of the BG.

P.S. I do wish the OOF vegetation was not directly below the bird...

Canon 40D + 100-400L @400mm, aperture priority, evaluative metering, 1/800s., f/7.1, ISO 500, no EC, natural light, handheld, full-frame top to bottom.

Great pose and excellent detail, don't mind the plants at the bottom,
the red LHU corner is bit too strong, perhaps de-sat a bit?

Love it, all of it. They look like our White-eyes Zosterops species, about 100 - 110 mm?

Hi Daniel great pose and feather detail , only suggestion would be to tone down the URC a bit

Hey Dan, I can just see this guy listening to your audio. Sweet pose, and good detail. Im not too keen on squarish crops. Have you tried a vertical, bringing in from the right, and adding to the top. ( more space to look in to.) Just a thought Dan.
