kind of a boring ole cormy pic. had to spice up the bg with a bicolor filter just to get some kind of mood or feel to it.

    what say you!!?

D300, 300 at f/7.1, 1/640s, ISO 640, flash fill at -1.3EV, manual exposure at probably +1.3EV, pretty sure it's full frame.

thanks for looking. wanna hear what you gotta say!!

Hi Harold, I felt the image had enough potential to work on it a bit. Added a darker bicolor filter and cropped a small bit off the top. Also did a very quick repair on the front of the bill. Added a very small touch of S/H to bring out a bit more detail and enhance color a bit...I like it and would definately keep it!

Harold, good eye detail and color, but I thought the BG needed something. Then I saw it in Dave's repost.
Why do you think it's boring and corny?

i really didnt think it was that boring....i was just trying to get some people to participate that dont normally. i think people dont realize how much they can learn just by paricipating in the forum. makes a big difference!! will learn faster!!!

    thanks for stopping by!!

and dave, thanks for the repost. i think we used the exact same filter. must have been in a quiet subtle mood when i was processing, but i love your version!!

It's always amazing to me how a subtle change can make such a critical improvement; Dave's repost does just that. It looks to me like there is a small feather in the beak in the original...is there a way to enhance it and retain it...I think it would add interest?? Thanks for posting, Harold.

Definitely a keeper in my book. At first glance I thought it needed something to make it pop, and then scrolled down to Dave's repost. That does it very nicely. Great pose, and great PP by Dave.

there is! and i tried several different things to get it to be more visible. just tougher in this version, but more visible in a couple others.

Harold, I would certainly like to have this one in my collection! Dave's repost kicked it up a notch. Love that eye!
