Approaching the nesting area about 1/2 hour before sunset. Finally clear skies and great lighting after several days of rain and high winds

    Ken:

Interesting top line and wings, very angular. like how well the alulas show up.

The image quality seems to be suffering from too big of a crop, or post processing. Not much fine detail visible, and overall a bit soft.

How big of crop was this?

Glad you finally got some decent weather!

    Hi Randy,

I cropped the left side and some of the bottom. The lighting was the soft glow before sunset which flattened out the wing details and I was only about 30-40 yards away. What should I do to adjust this in CS4 (just learning). I was really happy with the in flight wing position and would like to make this better. Thanks.

    Ken:

What post have you done to the image so far?
Perhaps put up a straight jpeg from raw file repost here, no post at all, and people can see what tweaks might be done to improve it.

Randy has pretty much covered it all Ken but I like the drop you chose for this image and the upward flight pose. Your timing was perfect. Keep them coming !!!!
