    Default Bye Bye, Mark III

This is one of the last images I made with my Mark III. I was waiting for a local Barnacle Goose who was a no-show that afternoon. The 'consolation prize' was this Canada Goose, the BG colors are due to some grass on the other side of the pond.

Now thats a show off pose. Excellent low angle, and I like the exposure on the blacks. Good sharp feather detail, and I like the colours in the BG too.

I like it very much, that old camera was not that bad after all:)
The pose and eye contact are great, the color is my favorite
and the crop is just right.

Last image with MarkIII? Did you switch to Nikon:D

I think the background is wonderful. Once again, it is blurred to where it should be to create dimension in the image - the bird is floating flat on the water. Is that done by the angle that you take the photo?
Also, the colors of the background mesh well with the colors of the bird.
Like comment above, the pose is great.
I am curious about the reflection lines on the bird itself. I have taken photos of birds at the bird bath that have reflection lines and I didn't know if that is something that is a considered a distraction. Yours are not very evident - mine are.

    Again, trying to learn
    Thanks
    Deb

Thanks, Deb! No, I just got a 1D Mark IV. :)

The angle was relatively low, this could add to the appearance and the goose was floating. In my opinion the reflection lines very often add interest to the image since the patterns sometimes look really good.

Hi Axel, Very well handled! Shows that a common goose can be made to look beautiful. Sharp, nice HA,good detail in whites along with a pleasing backround and water color. Good positioning within the frame also...

Axel, liked the pose a lot. With their long necks and small heads, it is hard to find a nice comp when they extend out the neck. With this pose, no problem as such.....looks very very good. Exposure spot on as usual.

Lovely colour and pose. Your "common goose" is not so common down here:D

Bye, bye Miss American Pie. I like the posture with the tilted head and the perfect EXP. I would have liked a bit more room below the bird for better compositional balance. Sweet BKGR. All in all very well done as expected.

A wonderful shot of this goose. Great light and background. I like the color of the water and the head turn. Perfect exposure of the whites and blacks.

Really outstanding image Axel- a real piece of art with the classic pose of the bird and the background.

Now you will understand that I take some pleasure in gently mentioning that I think a slight CW rotation is needed!

..... and I do mean slight.
