Not real sure about this one, near sunset with dim light, afraid to go over ISO 1600 and had to settle 1/400sec, a bit slower than I would have liked for hand holding.
Blur applied to background, which showed substantial noise.

Nice one, IMO a little tight in the frame and I would smooth URHC BG some (intersecting elements). Love the pose (great tail) and nice colors - good capture Bill - love the species.

William, I love these cute little guys. Nice composition. Thanks for describing your thoughts on capture.
Agree with Jeff on URHC. It looks like you did a good job eliminating most of the noise in the BG.:)

Nice image. One of my favorite birds. I'd like to see a little more space above and in front of the bird. I might, however, lose a tad bit of canvas on the LH side... such that the tail points directly into the uper LH corner and moving the head a bit off-center. The intersecting elements that Jeff mentions is slightly distracting and might be worth a little attention.

I like it, Bill. Perfect wren pose and HA, and good color and detail. Agree about URHC, but that's minor. Might consider a tad off the left, and a tad added above, and might also consider knocking down the highlights on the perch so they don't draw attention from this sweet little bird.

Thanks for the feedback-excellent suggestions! Good points compositionally speaking, the background, especially the URHC could easily be fixed. My main concern was the wren itself: image detail not being as sharp as I would like, and certainly lighting was a factor, as well as noise. Given the same conditions I would chance at least a few shots at a lower shutter speed, trying to expose more to the right. The image exposure here was correct, however overexposure(up to the point of clipping) would have lessened noise problems considerably, and if I had been lucky a sharper image might have resulted.regards~Bill
