    Taken on one of the few sunny days here in Michigan this winter at a local sanctuary. The question is does a group shot like this work?

    Canon 50D, 100-400 ef, iso 400, f8, 1/2000.

    Impressive shot and nice job getting them all in focus. However, IMO this does not work. The line between brown and white cutting across the swans (particularly the head of the R hand one) keeps it from being great. Also would like to see more separation between the two on the R.

    The two birds on the right could make it. I like the shadows on the snow here.
    The upper BG cold be further blurred etc.
    Here's my suggestion.

    I like the idea to remove the swan who won the 'bronze medal'. :) The similar wing positions of the other two makes this one for me and would do something similar than Peter and would just put the birds a bit further to the left in the frame.
