A Smile to Brighten Your Day!

This highlights in this image were a bit blown out due to harsh light, but the dragonfly's smile was too good to throw it away. :) I applied the xero mistifier filter, a blur overlay, and a touch of poster edges. I also boosted the color saturation a bit and darkened the edges a little.

A great macro of the dragonfly despite the blown highlights. A very difficult capture I'd imagine. Never seen a dragonfly this close up. My, they are ugly critters!:) K

Christopher, I might use the clone tool over the highlights using a lower opacity, just to tone them down. The image is nice w/ good detail. I like the up close look and the effects applied.:)

Wonderful, Christopher! Definitely got me to smile as did the bright, cheery colors of the image. Agree with Denise to clone over the hot spots with 20-30% opacity and it will really tone those down nicely.
