    Hi Folks

    Caught this year around resident in our garden perched on the Night Blooming Cerus ready to attack the suet hanging on our Arizona Ash. These rascals rule the roost, and are not shy about being vocal.

    Painting done in free Fotosketcher with some help from Corel PS X2 for the finishing touches.

    CC's invited and appreciated;

    Paintingly yours

    I like this Gus. The bird is well-exposed with nice detail and eye contact. I like the BG too!:)

    I agree with Julie, Gus. Very nice b/g and nice head turn of a bird I've never seen.
    A very nice painting effect.
    Thanks for sharing.

    This subject lends itself well to the canvas texture treatment - nicely done.

    Great treatment of the bird's feathers, and the cactus. The bird looks as though he's taking a curtain call:) Kora

    Beautiful painting Gus. Most has been said, but I'll add that I love the bright splash of blue. The bold colors really look great.
