This is one of the smaller species of dragonfly. That's a rose leaf it's perched on.

I love this shot Ken. First, a tiny, tiny species of dragonfly that I find very hard to catch. Love the color of the perch against that smooth green background. Awesome clarity of the subject as well. I like the placement of the perch and subject as well. Just a great shot.

A wonderful shot. Great calm background and killer perch. I like the composition of this shot.

I agree...you don't usually get a df on such a lovely perch and this one is great! Nice angle, nice placement in the frame, I love how the colors of the leaf feed off the colors on the df...excellent!

    Hey Ken,
Very nicely composed! Landed on a perfect perch and tack sharp where it was needed!

Beautiful image Ken! What makes this image special to me is the perch (the curve of the rose leaf combined with the angle of the dragonfly on the leaf is wonderful).

    Thanks, everyone!

This was really a rescue attempt so Photoshop should get most of the credit. The perch was too good to ignore but the dragon had its problems in the original.

    Ken,

Almost missed this great image. Wish I could keep this perch in my refrigerator for another day. Wonderful sense of geometry....
