This actually was taken in Dec 2009. Haven't been productive for a while but thought perhaps I could share this one with you and see how you think about it.

Don't like the perch myself but got nothing better that day :o

Desmond, great little bird. Really nice detail and color. The BG compliments the bird very nicely. The perch is the perch..... Congrats!

I like going after those birds Desmond and you gave me some ideas !!! :)

Can't do better with the pose and sharpness to go along with a great bg !!! btw the only thing eye catching about the perch is the one little stick on the right !!

Desmond - I'm partial to these little guys, and you caught this one nicely. Great pose and HA, lots of good detail. Too bad about the OOF stub on the right side of the perch; its a bit tricky but I would be tempted to try a version with that removed, along with the dark OOF branch in the upper right.

Hi Desmond - made the little guy look good - tack sharp and lovely fine feather details - perch is what it is.

Note to self - must try these guys - have them everywere were I live.

Awesome shot. Love the low angle, sharpness and detail.

    Thanks for the comments !

House sparrows are very common. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for being there for me most of the time :)

I believe I have seen a photo of this species here before by someone else and it looks beautiful. That tells me that even the most common birds can make a good photo.

great exposure, light and detail! only would clone that weirdness in the upper right corner.

i'm betting you could multiply the highlights on that perch and you might like it better. maybe!!
