    one from my travels - BG is a sunset reflected in water.. Reds are clipped but really like the colours so left em as they are.

    1/25th -- :)

    1600 ISO - :) ;) YES AL - I could have upped the ISO even on the D3 - BUT now what fun would that be ;)

    This guy was more than happy to pose, so I used the opportunity to practise technique - good technique and knowing your own and your equipments limitations is very handy - under ideal conditions which this pretty much was, could have increased the ISO to get a faster SS or opened up to F4 or both.

    Croppd and sharpened - comments welcome.

    Oh man, you're a master of handling white feathers. Always look soft and detailed. 1/25s hand-held...great job ! Lovely light !

    Lance, How you get the fabulous BG colors is amazing. A beautiful calming soft look with lots of detail in the feathers. Congrats!!!

    Beautiful BG, and lovely detail in the feathers. Might back off on the sharpening of the eye????

    A+!! The colors are wonderful, but I like everything else about this as well -- the head turn, the fish-eye at the camera, the one-leg stance. I wouldn't change a thing. Great job! :D

    Lance, beautiful in every way! Don't know what else to say... Image reminds me of a giant Creamsicle - orange sherbet on the outside and vanilla ice cream on the inside! Yummy colors!!

    i'm in awe here!! all i can say is wow!! first of all, the image is amazing with the color and detail. secondly, the detail is superb for the ss and handheld!! you da man!!!!!

    Superb image! The colors, the pose and details...But, the eye, is like it's looking through me...I love it!!!
