    Default Sibley iPhone Application

I just heard that Sibley came out with an iPhone app for $30. The reviews are a bit mixed and I haven't tried it out yet.

30 bucks for an App is a total rip off

It's the same price as iBird Explorer Pro.

hum I would just use wiki on the iphone ;) It's nice to see that there are people who actually pay 30 bucks for an iphone App, keeps the industry up and running :)

Sibley is pretty late to the party anyway. Can you hear the bird songs on Wikipedia? This seems to be one of the more popular features. Having an app can come in quite handy in remote areas without reception.

I'm very happy with Bird Explorer, agree with Axel on hitting the market too late.

I would definetly pay $30 for a similar app like Sibleys for us over here in Europe...with hopes for Collins Bird Guide.

I really like iBird (Plus) and it seems BirdsEye is finally loading all of the content for all 847 species - was really frustrated with them when they only gave a portion of them and wanted $20 for each additional group. Their recordings are far superior to iBird, but I like having both at hand. Now I'm hoping they will just let you post from the APP I am not a fan of having to reenter data at home on the web at eBird. The BirdPost APP has been a bit of a disappointment - it works inconsistently for posting in the field and membership is not high enough to make a difference.
