Cuckoo wasp from my garden. Wish the flash highlights on the abdomen weren't there.:)

Vida, beautiful shot with great detail. Cool looking bug. The flash highlights are a distraction as you mention and I wonder if the background could be darkened a bit - seems kind of bright to me. Still a winning image as usual.

I think it's a winner, too. I rather like that the BG is bright because it matches the bug and plant. I'd either keep it all bright or tone it all down (but I'd keep it bright! ;))

Nice position on the insect - wouldn't mind a tiny bit more room on the left and/or right side but it's really nice as is...just feels like the insect is a bit snug.

It almost has a solarized effect to it...I rather like it. Of course, ask me again after I've actually seen something other than dark and gray for the past three months and you might get another answer. :D

Another lovely image, Vida. Liked the golden glow all around and the stark contrast the blacks of the insect make. Great details. TFS.

The BG and the perch do seem a tad bright to me. The bug is amazing. It looks like it's made out of metallic foil! The flash highlights on the body don't bother me at all.

As others have said, it's still a winner.

Hi Vida, lovely green iridescense on the wasp ( if you can call it that. ) You seem to bring out the most vibrant colours in all your images, and this is no exception. Well captured.

Allen, Jules, Ramesh, Ken, Mike and Stu, thank you all for the lovely comments. With hindsight, I also notice that the bg is very bright. Mike, I'm still undecided about the competition.:)

Very nice pose Vida! I agree it is a tad bright but you could easily tone it down. The irridescence really comes through nicely!

Vida-this is outstanding. I love the sharpness and detail. It might be a bit bright, but the colors really pop!
