    Another visitor to my hide.
I thought I had learned a valuable lesson and checked the settings on my camera once I was settled in the hide - but not quite so.... The back screen on the camera indicated AV mode so at first I didn't check beyond that, then I noticed the camera kept re-setting the ISO speed and aperture after I had set the ISO to 200, I didn't understand what was going wrong, eventually I got a little led and looked at the top dial whereupon I noticed I was not in the convention AV mode it was in C1 mode - I wish the 50D had a dial that was not so easily changed accidentally!

I really like the alert pose and especially the oof background. The blue progressing to the greens and reds works well seting off the bird. Did you do any sharpening? It looks a little soft to me.

David the Raw image was sharpened at 40, 0.5 80 and 0, the image was constrained to fit 1024 x 768 followed by High Pass at 0.9.

The lovely colours really stand out for me. I also like the vertical which makes the bird appear very stately. Very well done. Dave

Nice frontal view of this guy combined with the profiled face. Great eye, and the foot up is a nice touch! I would have prefered a tiny bit more room at bottom as the virtual foot's toes would be quite close to the edge. Personally I would like less intense blues on that part of the BG.

Thanks Daniel so how would you go about this? Would you go to Select Color and then the Blue option and reduce the Blacks?

That would be one way to do it. Here, since there is no blue anywhere else, it would be safe and very quick to use Hue/saturation and destaurate the blue channel without affecting any other part of the image.

Daniel thank you for replying, I will try out your suggestion did you mean I go to Adobe RAW then HSL and select the Blue Channel and reduce there or in Photoshop Image >Adjustments> Hue Saturation - or doesn't it matter which?

Hey Jonathan, I meant the Photoshop option.
