I have been using pBase for a few years but almost cancelled this year. The performance of the site is glacially slow.

I have been using pbase for a number of years, yes it has its ups and downs. If I do change it will probably be to Zenfolio.

I've been a SmugMug user for about a year and a half but I don't use it for photo sharing - I use it to power my website. It is fast, very flexible and best of all there are not ads. Also, you don't even have to have SmugMug in the address if you don't want it.

I upload my photos to photo.net. They have a tie-up with imagepro. So you build your website on imagepro and the photos get pulled from photo.net. Really easy. included in photo.net subscription fee. It does not have shopping cart and all. But since I dont sell my photos, it works fine for me.

I use Smugmug, and I don't do a lot with it. Quite a few of the locals use Flickr which seems to have an active birding/nature community. Dave

I second Zenfolio, lots of customizing options, easy to use and customer service is fantastic.

I'm on Smugmug. I'm sure that I don't use it to the fullest but it seems to have lots of customizing features and potential for sales. My photos seem to look pretty good posted there also (IMHO).

My wife and I used squarespace.com to build and host our site.

My Pbase account is about to run out, so rather than renew, I have switched to Smugmug. It seemed the most user-friendly, customizable, and helpful of the various alternatives. Plus I can upload video clips.

    I use two web galleries.
Flickr for a general dump ac to get feedback form around the world on what catches people's attention,
and Pbase for what I consider the best of the bunch and with different categories.

Couldn't show 2 in Poll so 1 Flickr to be added.

I'm building a SmugMug site now and have been using Flickr a couple of years ago. I didn't check anything in the poll because I have about the same number of images on the two sites. The SmugMug site isn't fully functional yet.

I checked them all out and ended up with Zenfolio. Still working on getting the layout I want, but they have nice customization features and solid third-party vendors. I also like the fact that you can sell your own custom products, do your own fulfillment, and set your own prices and policies.

I use pbase but am not too happy with their support. Maybe it's time to change providers or start my own website.

I have toyed with the idea for some years now with my own web site. But...BPN is much more of a quality site for me to display my work for others to see. The shows I go to pay for themselves and most of the locals here know my work. For now I choose BPN, the best site going! :)

Its definitely Zenfolio for me.. lots of customization features and they have webservice apis that developers can use!. I've automated the whole process of uploading, categorizing, keywording, managing all my photos fully through scripts. Its a breeze!
