    Default Egret hiding

Very minimal post processing here, watermark and border is about it, adjusted curves to tone down the whites of the egret, no crop...let me know what you think

Definitely a different approach, Peter. I like the eye contact and the green of the lores echoed in the reeds. If the beak was more visible I think it would work better. Wondering about a tighter crop removing some from top, right and bottom to reduce the impact of the relatively reed free left upper corner.

Thanks, the eye contact was the key in this photo, I had waited for the bird to poke its beak out in the open but it never did. I may go back and crop it, though I don't want to minimize too much space on the sides and top of the bird

I really like the environmental shots like this one, where every single thing in the real environment hasn't been cloned out. It shows the reality of the place much better. That said, I agree with the cropping suggestions. I would be careful to not take too much off of the top though.

Thank you. If i do crop it it will be from the top left corner to minimize the empty space. I will most likely play around with some crops of the image

    Hi Peter,

Crop is better but I think just a tad too much off the top. Can you recrop and add a little more space there? Also, on my (uncalibrated) screen at work, greens in the second crop look duller and less intense. I liked the greens in the original better.

Thanks for the feedback. I had tried to make the sides and top as even away from the bird as possible to try and minimize some of the empty background towards the head. I also had adjusted the curves in the re-post.
