    Hi all,

I have been spending too much time in the Wildlife forum so I thought I should post in the Avian section for a change.

I was waiting and waiting for this bird to take flight from its perch as I had hoped of capturing some of the open wing as it took flight. Unfortunately when it do go I missed it completely which was a shame. It is cropped as I had deliberately left space right and left of the bird anticipating I would need that space when it did take off.

    Taken in Masai Mara, Kenya.

    1DMK3, 500mm, f5.6. 1/1600, ISO400.

    C&C welcome.

    Austin

Both are nice, but on the repost I would darken the perch. Wonderful subject, actually one of my favorites! Such nice light and perfect BG. Well done!!

Hi Austin, what a pity you didnt capture the take off, as you are probably aware, these guys have wonderful wing colours. Super pose, good HA, on a natural perch. The colours are correct, but I would maybe lighten the roller a tad, but leave the BG as is. Mital's exposure looks good on the roller.
