This otter had quite the catch and was proud of it and was showing it off.

Dennis, thats a fair size catch, and he certainly does look proud with it. Knowing these guys, it probably wont take him long to finish it either.

Big Congrats on finding the otter with catch !!! I concentrated on them for a few days and came up empty !!

Also making one look good is difficult since the fur is dark and usually wet !! Do like how this one looks and having the catch and made from a low angle does it for me !!!

Focusing wise its a tough situation, would like to see the focus point on the eyes but having the fish up front not sure how it would look, I do know I like this image a lot !!! ... undecided if I would like a little more space around the otter !!!

I like the low angle and the head on view. The eye contact with the fish is fine too. :D

Is this a big crop? I would have liked to see a narrow aperture here. Would love to have an otter image with fish in my files. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,

Thanks everybody, I will have a few more as they are around my ponds, but they are there only at first light so 5.6 is about the best or would be real blurry as they are constant motion. I re cropped leaving a little more on top and bottom and sharpened more. Thanks again for your help.

A great catch, if they are constantly moving and the light is low, I would bump the iso up to 800 or 1000, that body does pretty well at those isos and you can always remove the noise in post processing if you need to.

    A great catch indeed.

Just a bit more sharpness required.
