Default 1D MKIV Micro adjust, have you and what method

    Hi all
Just got a 1D MK4 and just wondering whether you have had to Micro Adjust your lenses with the camera and if so what method you used...

I have not had a chance to really give the camera a good try out yet but test images seem sharp, no BIF images as yet though.... Has rained every free day I have had since I got the camera:(

I have with a LensAlign but it showed my body front focusing more than I was comfortable with so I sent it back to Canon for servicing...

This may help as they also did the micro adjustment:

I have checked the micro adjustment on all my lenses. My 500 F4 needed -5. All else were 0. I used the following http://www.northlight-images.co.uk/a...djustment.html

It is for the MK3 but still works on the 7D and MK4. I have since checked the results at different distances and different days and it is consistent. Process is easy and cheap!

Well, I spent the afternoon playing with the microadjust and came up with these settings. Just need to try out on some birds now...

    Ef300f4 & EF500f4 were +8 and with either the 1.4x or 2x extender were +8.....

I used a chart then also a point on a buildings brickwork to check results and with and without IS and it was very consistent...

Well it consumed about 3 hrs of my day just to do that... Lets hope I got it right;)...

Why can the camera not auto adjust would be so much easier.... maybe on the MKV;)
