Waterlily

Shot this at Longwood Gardens last summer. One thing I'm questioning about the image is the lily seems to be floating with no stem as a base. Obviously the stem is behind the lily but not visible at this angle. I usually like a base when I shoot whole flowers without it being a zoomed in closeup. Curious to know others opinions...

wonderful colors. the flower does look a bit surreal floating out there in space. I think I see a hint of the stem at the base of the lower lily pad but not enough of it to mentally connect it to the flower.

Beautiful colours and very nicely exposed frame. Was the flower in air or was it floating on water...?
It does look like its in air.

the flower some how looks a bit unuseal as is on the air , maybe thanks there is not a shadow of it , the colors are pretty good . maybe u could make a shadow in PS .

I like it full stop! The colors are perfect, and the way water lays against the pad and comes up onto the pad is a bonus.

Nice composition. Beautiful waterlily and it looks like the light is coming out from inside the flower!
