    Default grey heron, Graureiher, ardeae cinerea

    Last weekend i take this picture of grey heron. There is a colony of 16 grey heron.



    MKIII
    500 4.0 L IS + 1,4xTC
    Tripod
    ISO400 + f /5,6 + 1/1600s

    Hi Jan This images are difficult to make them work for the bg clutter I know it is very difficult to photograph in colonies You did find a beautiful bird in breeding plumage I think with a perfect sun angle might have given you a better chance !!! Do look for birds flying in an out Will get some wall hangers !!!

    I only would show a picture which not looks like the most of a grey heron ;-)

    Jan, the re-post is 10,000,000 times more powerful than the ORIG... All that you need to do is move the bird back in the frame and lighten the underwings a bit.

    The light is way to contrasty in the first image because--as Alfred mentioned--if the side light.

    As altready mentioned by Al that BG is very distracting but the other image in the clear sky works much better.
