Another one from last summer. 40D. 300f/4 nonIS and 1.4x. iso400. f/5.6. 1/3200. exp. comp +2/3. Canvas added at front.
I know I can make it much more dramatic by playing with the color temp...but I have chosen to keep it as it looked through the viewfinder. A cloudy day, it was.

I am ok with the 'natural' color scheme here. Good blacks. I almost wish the 2nd bird from the right wasn't there, would give a cleaner line an more symmetry in the wing positions. Just personal taste.
I think images like this are hard to pull off as there are so many variables beyond your control with respect to wing position, separation, arrangement of the birds, etc.
Wing position in particular is critical to an effective silhouette and the second and third from the right are less than ideal.
Agree with Randy that the 3 birds bunched up in the upper right weakens the arrangement.
I see a hint of a vertical line in front of the leftmost bird, maybe from added canvas?
