    Here's one that I just found from last April. N. Gannets are common off the Long Island coast, but not too often seen this close. (This was off the jetty at Jones Beach West End.) Cropped from Horizontal.

    nice pose and color. the lower wing seems a little washed out.

    Nice ventral view with excellent exposure. I always love their faces, reminds me of bottle nose dolphins.

    Great find, great pose, Grace. I like the angle as well. The lower wing does look a little bright to me as well--but my monitor is afully bright.

    Would love to have an opp to capture one of these in flight. You did a good job with exposure and composition. Lovely BG against this bird.
