    Default Luangwa Lion

It was now up to this younger male Lion who wandered in to the Hollywood pride territory to restore some fresh blood after the resident pride male
was rumoured to have been shot whilst wandering across the river and out of the NP some months before.
Had to make do with the increasing harsh light (around 11.00am) but quite liked the riverbank setting.
Taken on a safari into the Sth Luangwa NP- Zambia in Sept '07.

Nice comp, exposure handled well. Great eye contact, a little eye work and a touch of selective sharpening to the face make this sing. Well done, killer bg. TFS

Hi Marc, the water sets this male off nicely. I like the angle, and the light doesnt look too bad here. Good solid stare too.

You have handled that well Marc. Good detail on the shady side of the face. Good eye contact as well.

I am not sure that the far river bank adds anything to the image but a higher view point may have lost some of the impact in the image as posted.

Did well with the side light Marc Interesting suggestion on the higher perspective if possible, sort of like it !!!

    Hey Marc,
Agree with the slightly higher angle....only to get the far shore a bit further away. Considering the light......you did well maintaining the detail too! I think you can get away with a bit of eye lightening......to further enhance the stare.

Apart from the bad lighting and the shrubs in the BG that need to be cloned, you did well. A different background than the usual images I see.

I like the angle of the lion and personally like how the branches somewhat frame him. Agree with Todd on some selective face sharpening.
