    Default Perigrine--on attack!

The sun has finally come out up here in the PNW. The photographers in the area are so fortunate to be able to witness a pair of Perigrine Falcons as they hunt a flock of Dunlins. It is an amazing sight to behold up close---I can barely shoot images--It is just as nice to just watch. A very special sight.
It is no easy task to catch one of these in focus in the frame---the action is intense and very, very fast!

Really like this shot with the birds in the BG. Peregrines are fast and it is nice and sharp. VWD.

Amazing! I know how fast these birds can be and you and the camera did a great job of capturing the action. Lighting on the Perigrine is terrific separating it from the BG, which also is very good with the Dunlins having just the right amount of focus. The one bright bird in the LRC is the only thing that may be slightly distracting.

Great detail and action. Perhaps a very slight CCW rotation? When I visited your way in January I found the dunlins mesmerizing. Didn't get to see the falcons that day.

This shot tells a story, so much better than just a shot of a bird. Great great capture.

    I second,

Technically perfect and it has a storyline included, it doesn't really get any better than this!

    A real winner Bonnie!

Tough shot to get Bonnie, and a very nice BG too. shows both habitat and predatory behavior!!! I would selectively sharpen the beak and feet area more if there is enough detail in RAW.
    Very well done and congrats.

Amazing, love the full stretch wing flight pose, the feather details on the Perigrine, the OOF Dunlins really put this image over the top for me. Now if there is a focus Dunlins on the left with a panic looks on the face this would even be more of a killer :D but this is already a killer image as it is. Like this a lot, TFS.

A great shot Bonnie, and good for you to be able to get close enough to get the shot. Dave

Killer shot. This is beyond fantastic!
The falcon in the foreground and it's potential meal in the background - this is just awesome!
One of the best peregrine shots I've seen.

Excellent image Bonnie. Sharp, good colors and light, and you did really well capturing the chaos that a flyover of one of these hunters creates.
