Shot in the wild. I managed to get two pics of him between 2 trees just after take-off. One had feet and one did not. Murphys law, the one without feet had the better wing position, so I "borrowed" some feet off the other pic. Other than that, just curves, colour/saturation, brightness/contrast and a sharpen.

    Camera Model Canon EOS 40D
    Shooting Date/Time 2010/02/21 07:35:13 AM
    Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1/2000
    Av( Aperture Value ) 6.3
    Metering Mode Spot Metering
    Exposure Compensation +1/3
    ISO Speed 500
    Lens EF500mm f/4L IS USM +1.4x
    Focal Length 700.0mm

The spot metering was due to a Green Backed Heron I shot just before this that was in difficult light.

    Gary:

Really like the texture displayed under the wing.
It does look odd that the far foot appears so much larger than the nearer foot.
The framing is a bit tight for me, top and bottom.

    Cheers

    Thanks Randy,

I was in two minds on the crop - was thinking maybe a bit more on the bottom.

I cloned both feet together, just where the back foot starts, off the shot before this. This is exactly how they looked in the shot, so must be something to do with the angle:confused:

Good underwing detail Gary, and I like intense look on the FE. Good job on replacing the feet too.
