    Default Blue-chested hummingbird?

I have never taken hummingbird photos before. I believe I have this species correct from Panama, but if not please let me know. I only had one flash with me and have never really read up on how to photograph them, so I realize that multiple flash setups are ideal and I couldn't figure out how much was too much flash. It was fun, but out of 63 photos I took, I kept 11. Probably need to press that shutter button down a few more times next time. I had lots of blurry ones. Is this too centered? In a perfect world I would like the bird angle more toward me, but this is what I could get. Thanks in advance for your comments.

A lovely flying jewel. The SS I understand must be much faster, but we do not have them here in SA. The face is spot on and sharp. Great iridescence in the plumage. and

    Bryan,

I am pretty certain you got the species right here. I love the iridescence. The blues on this individual are very good for this species, as they often have duller/dirty edges to the chest patch. A shame that the blurred wing is back across the body and not out behind, but getting everything together in one shot is tough with these guys, and 11 out of 63 seems quite a good rate to me. I would perhaps like to see a little more space around. Was it going to a feeder?

Thanks Ben for the critique. I have lots of space to add, so thanks for that suggestion. This one wasn't going to a feeder if I remember correctly, but there were 5 feeders at the RDC, so I am sure he did eventually. ;)
