Haven't had much time for photgraphy recently (sadly), but did fit in a gorgeous trip to Namibia where I saw this little guy in Etosha.

Got to love those eyes, your image is sharp with lots of details. At first glance I thought the bird blends in too much with the environment, but after looking at it for a while I think it goes well with the hiding behind the tree pose. Like the camouflage looks (except those big bright eyes will give away its position :))

Gordon, nice environmental shot. The camouflage of this bird is amazing. This is what the prey might see (or other predators)-just trees, except for the eyes!

Like it just as it is -adds to the story - shows the habitat and how the bird blends into it.
Not bad for popup flash either.
    Good show :)

    Hi Gordon

Also like it as presented and if anything just a little more room. Do like bg since it shows how these birds hide !! Very sharp around the eyes with lots of detail !! Also like you did not stop down further to keep the bg from coming into play !! Excellent image !!!
