    Default Double-crested Cormorant.

From last year in Tampa Bay. I was set up for Spoonbills as this cormorant flew across to my right. A bit of a "grab shot", and I was pleased with the results. Only recently post-processed though...

Canon 40D + 100-400L @400mm, evaluative metering, manual exposure (+1 stop, metered off sky), 1/2000s., f/6.3, ISO 500, natural light, handheld, slight crop for composition (~85% full frame)

    Daniel:
Well exposed, nice details in blacks and subtle green sheen. Good wing position.
You must have done some quick exposure adjustments, as I had to add about 2/3 more light when going from spoonies to cormorants in the same light.

    Cheers

    Randy

Hey Randy, I was normally exposed to the right for spoonies...this one, with no adjustments, gave a bang on exposure!

Beautiful pose and BG. I'd go for Axel's vision and warm the temp a bit. Cormie's look better warmer :)

I like it all the way around and the background is perfect.

Great job with the eye color and definition and head sharpness.

Lovely clean shot Daniel with good detail, well exposed. Must be the day for Cormorants.

Hi Dan, that the beauty about the 100-400, "grab shots" are always possible, and you certainly succeeded here. Good wing position, overall, well exposed on a difficult character, and I like the colour of the water BG. I would maybe selectively sharpen his head.

You most certainly nailed the exposure with this one Daniel. Great wing position and sharpness too.
