    Default Common Goldeneye Display

Well, I can only describe this image as a bit funky--I thought I was photographing a female this morning, when all of a sudden--this happened!;)
I assume that this is an immature male just strutting his stuff? There are two other fully colored males in the vicinity as well.
Not the most beautiful of birds at the moment. is he?:)

The head throw and the low angle make this image, Bonnie!
Would probably smooth out the bg a little ...

Looks like he is praying Bonnie !!! Agree with KK on the bg Will make a difference Can also add to select the eye and darken It is sharp as presented but these duck looks goofy all the time While you are at the eye would clone the few bright spots on the side of bill !!!! Love this image !!!!

Very nice action captured. The bg looks a bit odd on my screen despite the ISO800.
    Is it a larger crop?

Szimi, thank you! I will smooth out this bg. It does not in fact have much noise, but the bg is a steep, dark, sandy beach and it has a lot of shells and debris on it that make it look busy and noisy. I will blur it out more and clone out some more spots.
    Thanks!

Love the action you captured in this image Bonnie . Great timing and excellent detail.
