I saw this guy loosing this antler in fight. One of the most memorable moments in field.

    Sid,
I like the framing with the trees. It stands out with snow in the background. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,

Its getting close to the time where they drop them anyway so this isn't as bad as it looks. I like the pose and the framing around the snow provided by the trees and brush. Must've been a good show.

Must have been a thrill to watch and capture. Well done on the exposure and good detail. Bull is positioned well in frame with nice habitat showing. Hope to see more from the encounter. TFS

What a spectacle that may have been!!! And he does a little under the weather, not only for his injury but the blow to his pride. Were you able to get any of the fight itself?

Nice shot. The red from the wound really jumps out in the soft light.

Thanks all. Got some from encounter but not anything great. Light was almost gone and could not freeze any action. Will share some images later.

Sometimes, we feel for wildlife, as they cant just go for medical help, but we also accept that is nature. I like the comp, and Steve's explaination makes this, for all the better.

I had completely forgotten that they fall of naturally every year, so obviously not as bad as I had originally thought.
