One of three owlets I got to watch grow up a couple of summers ago. Was revisiting unprocessed files since I haven't gotten out to shoot in awhile. 40D, 400DO + 2xTC, f9, 1/40s, ISO 1600, tripod, MLU, cable release, cropped a bit all round, mostly from left and bottom.

Great job with that low light shot Steve... 1/40s ISO 1600!
Great sad eyes of your subject makes the shot!
I would have tried to get rid of some of the long thin hay like herb... whatever you call it (my English isn't that great when I talk about botanical stuff...)

    Good composition

Hey Steve, well framed between the two stalks of grass, and I like the HA. Comp works well. I see a slight magenta cast in this.

Color in the eyes is what interests me here.

Nice comp and detail. The HA and eyes really add to this one. I also enjoy the environmental placement. How'd ya get him to hold still for 1/40?:)

    Steve:
Excellent low light tech. to capture this one!
I might tone down the grasses flanking him, not remove, just tone down the brightness a smidge.
