Default Egret with tiny meal #2

This was taken relatively early in the morning on my third day with Jim learning how to HH. To say I was getting a bit tired not being used to HH the 300 was an under statement. We stopped his boat next to a spot with lots of floating pads and watched the egrets landing on the lillys, hunting, and taking off. I watched this one land, stalk and stare, jab its head under the water, and when it came up and spread its wings I started shooting. Some of you may find it a bit busy; I have enjoyed looking at the behaviour and habitat. I especially like the way the egret's wing is covering the small brown bird (id someone?).

An alternative crop would be to crop from the top down into the body of the heronust below the white mark on the shoulder - what do you think?

hi Jay - Like the action - BG is a little busy but shows the habitat.
I would be very tempted to remove the de-capitated OOF egret in the BG.
Looking forward to seeing more :)

Jay, I may be wrong but the small brown bird appears to be a female Boat-tailed Grackle

Looks good evicting the last bird Jay !!! Tech settings are just perfect and looks like your doing just fine hand holding the lens !!! Might be a 300 but still is just over six pounds which after a while will be felt !!!

...btw with these type bg I don't mind going wide open with the aperture for rendering the bg as oof as possible !!! Like the overall feel, very good !!!
