    Patience is the key with these guys - they are quite inquisitive and will (in my area anyway) come check you out - Have them stand 2 inches in front of my camera.

    Pretty much SOC - cropped from memory is all.

    Handheld laying on ground

    A little work could be done - eye cleaned up of double catchlight - BG is not great (I dont often go into changing that though - prefer as shot)

    Very nice little bird, Lance. Is it usual to see them with the tail up like that? Love the colors, the details and the alert pose.

    Lance what a great pic mate. They are one of my favourite birds to see. It's fabulous seeing a cock fluttering about with his harem of hens following him and they chatter to each other consistently so as not to get separated in the underbrush.

    Great capture, sharp and his tail sets off the pic.
