I got quite a few opportunities to photograph barn owls up in Utah, but most of the pics were nothing to write home about. I did like this one though.

Great find, I still have to see one in the field. Nice setting, light and details. A bit more eye contact would have been nice but I like it as is.
Eye contact was difficult to come by for some reason; very few frames where the owls were looking at me.
A very pretty bird and actually I like the fact it is hunting and not necessarily looking your way here. I do agree it would be nice if it were but this is pretty nice. My nit would be the darn line of the trees cutting thru him. Not that bad just a nit, I wish I had one as good!!
I love the mouse costume idea! :D
Doug, You should write home with that capture. BG is super andtheOwl -WOW!!! Bob
WOW, what a picture! The sharpnes, the colors and the light, very goog!
I clearly see why you like it. I would really love to shot daytime owls flying above hayfields.
This is a wll done image. Love the details especially.

I love this Doug and must admit I am suffering a little envy. Really like the hunting pose and the excellent detail. They are such beautiful creatures and a big congratulations on finding this one. By the way I think the mouse costume is a great idea !!!!!!!!
And you have a right to like this Doug! It's an awesome image with a great pose in lovely light, a nice catchlight and a pretty good BG. An image to be proud of!
Like it? I would love it, beautiful pose, light and bg!
Great image. Love the light here. The slight top angle works really well too. Congrats.
