Hi Milt - not going to give a full critique - just want you to have a look at something...

Go into Photoshop or whatever your editing program is and have sample the whites (RG Values)- what do you get??
On the back near the righthand side of the frame I get 195 231 253 - See any issue???

Lance, I use Picasa3, which is a very rudimentary editing program, and which, as far as I know, does not have the capability to do what you suggest. Upon looking at the area you indicate, it appears to be a bit blown. Is that what
    you are referring to?

Hi Milt just look at the image, might even use a reference from similar bird for comparison !!!

Milt they are trying to tell you that the image has a blue colour cast. Perhaps if you set your camera to cloudy WB it would help. Think Picasa is a pretty basic editing program.

Here is a re-post of the portrait. I noticed that I did something to the image that I never do in Picasa - auto color adjustment, which at times applies a bluish cast to the image. Here it is without that adjustment. What do you think?

Ahh Milt - the whites are white - much better!!!!
I would apply some additional sharpening to the bird - Head/eye area does look a tad soft - Sharpen the eye as well - will make the whole image appear sharper.
Some noise reduction on the BG will also improve.
    :)

I have applied overall sharpening and hope it has improved the image.

Hi Milt .... just noticed the metering mode. Not sure you want to use that type, best to go with your matrix (equivalent) !! Check your choices !!
