    Hi Folks

Trying a Mike Tracy :D Was playing Dust Fairy (Brit term for house cleaning) when I came across my only photo of a Rose-breasted Grosbeak (a rare migrant in the west} that was a bit of a disaster case. Gave it a lot of colour repair and sharpening in CS4, then took it into free FotoSketcher and using mostly the defaults created this oil painting.

    CC's invited and appreciated.

    Keep smiling

Gus, I love the painted BG texture and the colors. I think that the feeder looks neat w/all the seeds-may have preferred it w/o the diagonal white line thru the head.:)

    Hi Denise

Thanks for your coments. Out of practice, but gave it a go to get rid of the white bar through his head

    The Mad Painter rides again.

Gus, I like it better with the feeder left in - it gives the "tilt" some reason for being there. I would also respectfully suggest that the area in the BG from his body up to the top of the frame be as light as the BG from his feet down. I think it would give his head a little more separation from the BG.

I'd say for a 'save' this one was worth the time!

Nice image and application, Gus, given the circumstances.

You could clone the edge of the feeder over out of the head of the bird and extend it down to the bottom of the feeder. Just a suggestion, as I agree it is nice to see it, but also agree the head is not the best place to have it growing from! ;)

    Hi Folks:

Thanks for all the comments and ideas _ I put them all in the grinder and did a major overhall . . .

Had CS4 smokin' and followed my nose :D
