Here's George landing at first light, looking for a branch right under his nest
His protuberance removed and some blurring applied to the foreground.

    Fabs:

The raised feathers on his chest, wing position and splashes all give a sense of movement/action.

I do wish the bill was a bit more distinct from the neck. Perhaps a bit more sharpening/contrast tweaking could help that area.

I also might consider going 1/2 stop brighter on the image, matter of taste really.

    Cheers

    Randy

    Very interesting, excellent plumage show.
Agree with Randy about bit more head turn.
Quite unique and original image. Very nice.

Such an unusual capture Fabs. I think that in cases like this where such a striking presentation is made, the imperfections in the image are secondary.

Love the deep colours here Fabs and the focus on the plumes, underwings and splash. Here's I think a rare example of an image that does not need super sharpness in the head/eye area because the emphasis is elsewhere.

    Hey Fabs,
George looks like the conductor! I like the darkness in contrast to the plumes. Not sure a different HA would work as the slightly off center gives enough seperation for my tastes. I'm not going to say tight.....because I like it....just surprised no one else mentioned it as I am generally the lone tight cropper!:D Splash takes it up another notch!
